A many-faceted career in the Theatre
New plays, new musicals and classics, dramas and comedies, TV series and revues: Patrick had an enviable acting career across Canada and in the U.S. before artistic direction began demanding his full time. Since retiring from that in 2017, he has enjoyed frequent travel and returned to Acting with enthusiasm..
After heading Actor-training at Dalhousie University, Patrick founded and developed the joint Sheridan-UTM Theatre and Drama Studies Program and served as Artistic Director of Theatre Erindale for 25 years. In 2017 he was named "One of the 50 Most Influential People in the First 50 Years of the University of Toronto Mississauga".
Patrick is the author of four award-winning plays and musicals, several adaptations of classics, and numerous industrial shows for corporations and governments. He is a former Director-Dramaturg of the Muskoka Festival Musical Theatre Writer's Colony, and a leader of numerous play-and-musical-writing workshops.
